What is it?

It was discovered last year and whilst much is known about it, the problem is it has the ability to generate a daily list of  new IP addresses to use, which has made it very difficult to stop the network behind this virus

What will it do?

That is not certain. It could damage your PC, it could make you PC part of a zombie network that will pull your personal data/keystrokes and pass them onto hackers.

What can I do?

• On Tuesday make sure you update and run your antivirus program and do a full scan
• Ensure you have the lastest Windows Updates.
• Get a spyware cleaner such as Adaware from Lavasoft.com (free)
• Make a backup of your data on a DVD/CD/External drive and remove it from internet access and store safely.

You may also consider disconnecting from the internet on Tuesday evening and do not go on on Wednesday untill the impact if any has been reported in the press.

There has been many date related scares before and some say that the date being used means this could be a april fool. However if it is not and your data or PC are compromised then it would be too late.
