A further server has been set up. It is simular to our existing VPS server but not quite as High spec. The existing server, Code name Prometheus, is our main VIP server. Prometheus is the most secure and only we have access to it. The new server, code name Daedalus , is almost as secure but will have some limited client access for selected sites. It has its own domain and nameservers and seperate Class C IP addresses.

The idea is to have a rolling down level of client access. Our other servers include full client access via either cpanel or Direct Admin.

We have decided to exit the mainstream hosting market and use Starteckonline for client referals. Our own servers will only host our existing clients and new ones. Where people need their own hosting access they will be directed to Starteck via their affiliate program.

We made this decision mainly for security reasons. We recently have been under severe attack on Prometheus and whilst we lost no data it caused lost time securing and cleaning the system. We now recognise that offering mainstream hosting means we lose control of what is on our servers and this can compromise the other clients hosted there. Additionally we like 24 hour a day support and whilst we get that on our VPS and most of our othere servers we cannot ecomonicaly offer that level of service to or clients.
