We have been experiencing some problems with one of our UK servers for a while. Whilst the datacenter and master hoster have been looking into this we have also been looking at alternatives as a backup plan.

We took deilvery on Monday of a new dedicated VPS Linux server to replace problem one. After transfering the accounts we instigated a DNS change on Thursday and it went live on Friday.

The new server has dedicated resources just for the clients we have placed on it. We have full control over all aspects of the server including the reboot facility.

The server is running fine and we are very happy with the move. If it continues then we will consider more of the same.

This first VPS server we are using as a VIP server for out chicsystems.com domain and nameservers and selected high profile clients. We will monitor its performance and will limit the accounts on it. It is not going to be used for any reseller or client access accounts.
