So what is pagerank and is it important?

What is PageRank?

The Pagerank is a figure from 1 to 10 assisgned by Google to a website. The higher the pagerank the higher the value placed on the website. We will shortly be adding a detailed FAQ on PR to this site. Many factors can influence the PR, from the number and quality of links, correct Meta tags and most important the content of the site.

Does a High PR get me up the search results?

No, there are some sites with low or no PR and a high ranking on the results (SERPS) However a good PR is an indication of the general quality of the website and as it can take time to obtain should be worked on and maintanined.
